Self: Animals of the same colored hair over the entire head, legs and body, without ticking.
Beige- light brown; eyes pink.
Black- deap, rich black; eyes dark
Chocolate- To be the color of bittersweet chocolate; eyes dark with a ruby cast
Cream- pure, even, delicate cream color free from brassy or lemon tinge; eyes may be pink or dark, with or without a ruby cast
Lilac- light gray with an even purple cast, having no hint of orange or brown; eyes pink
Red Eyed Orange- reddish orange; eyes pink
Red- deap, rich red, like that of an Irish Setter Dog; eyes dark with or without ruby cast
White- pure, even china white, free of brassy or lemon tinge; eyes pink or dark with or without ruby cast.
Agouti: coat has an under color, determining the base color, with ticking over the entire animal, except the belly which should be clean and without ticking.
Dilute Agouti- may consist of any of the base, tip, and eye color combinations listed below. Belly band is to match the tip color and be as narrow as possible.

Golden Agouti- should appear as a rich chestnut hue, formed by an undercoat of blue-black, tipped with red. The belly band is to be red and as narrow as possible. Eyes- dark
Silver Agouti- should appear as a bright silver-white hue, formed by an under coat of blue-black, tipped with white. The belly band is to be white and as narrow as possible. Eyes- dark
Solid: Animals of the same color uniformity over the entire animal. This uniformity may be obtained by either the intermingling of different colored hair shafts, or agouti colored hairs over the entire body.
Brindle- made up of red and black hairs which should be evenly intermixed. At least 50% of the cavy must have intermixed color with 75% perfered. Eyes-dark
Roan- made up of an intermixing of white plus one or two recognized self, agouti, or solid colors. At least 75% of the body must be roaned. Roaning usually begins at the shoulders. Eyes and toenails are to match the color variety.
Solide Dilute- color is to be the same as Dilute Agouti, except that the ticking covers the whole body (including the belly).
Solid Golden- color is to be the same as Golden Agouti, except that the ticking covers the whole body (including the belly)
Solid Silver- color is to be the same as Silver Agouti, except that the ticking covers the whole body (including the belly).
Marked: A cavy that has the color of the coat broken up into orderly patches or patterns.
Broken Color- color consists of patches of any two or more recognized self, solid, or agouti colors except Brindle, and Roan. A Broken Color cavy must have at least one patch the size of a 50 cent piece or larger of at least two colors. The cavy may also have other patches, larger or smaller.
Dalmatian- color is to consist of any one recognized self color, in the form of spots, on a white background. Ears and eyes are to match the standard for the marking color. Spotting should be clear, distinct, and well distributed over the body.
Dutch- Color is to consis of any self, agouti, or solid color (besides roan) in combination with white. The marking color should make a large, well rounded, circle on either side of the cavy's face carried to the whisker bed, following the jaw bone, and meeting the line of the neck. It also encircles the cavy from just behind the shoulders, covering the hind quarters, until it reaches the stops 2/3 of the way down the cavy's hind feet. The white color is to form a medium wide and wedge shaped blaze, covering the nose, whisker bed, and tapering up to the ears. The neck (portion of the collar behind the ears) is also white.
Himalayan- body color is to be as white as possible with rich, velvety black markings on the nose, feet, and ears. The nose marking is to be an egg shape, carying up the face as far as possible. Ear color is to be black to the base of the ears. Feet markings should be carried as high as possible on each foot.
Tortoise Shell- a Tortoise Shell's markings are made up of patches of red hair and patches of black hair. Ideal distrobution is in a checker board pattern. At least 1/4 of the cavy must be covered with each marking color.
Tortoise Shell & White- a Tortoise Shell and White consists of patches of red, black, and white hair. Ideally, the colors should alternate from side to side with a dividing line down the center of the back and belly. The cavy must have at least a 50 cent sized patch of each of the marking colors.
Tan: A cavy with a self top color of Black, Blue, Chocolate, or Lilac with Tan (red or orange depending on top color variety) markings around the eyes, pea spots, inside ears, nostrils, jowls, shoulders, inside of feet/legs, chest, and belly. The flanks are to be evenly and thickly laced with tan tipped hairs.
Black- deap, rich black, carried to the skin with ears and foot pads to match; eyes dark
Blue- a deap gray, with an even slate cast carrked to the skin; ears and foot pads to match; eyes dark with ruby cast
Chocolate- deap, rich chocolate, carried to the skin with ears and foot pads to match; eyes dark with or without a ruby cast.
Lilac- light grey, with and even purple cast, carried to the skin; ears and foot pads to match; eyes pink
